Sipo rabbit skins are raised for human consumption in Catalonia, Spain, where they have a long tradition of eating rabbit and exporting to the rest of the world.
Like lambskin and cowhide, the fur is a by-product and only the nicest and best are tanned and dyed locally in the Barcelona area. Rabbit fur consists of 2 cm long guard hairs and about 1 cm long undercoat. The skins measure on average 35 cm in length and 25 cm in width.
